Who we are

The After Work Club ("TAWC", "we") runs a private community for professionals. We are the data controller for the personal data you give us on this platform. Contact us at info@theafterworkclub.co.uk.

What we collect

  • Account details: name, email address and sign-in information.
  • Profile details: photo, job title, company, industry, city and interests.
  • Activity: posts, comments, follows, messages, event RSVPs and perk redemptions.
  • Billing details for paid plans (handled by our payment provider; we do not store card numbers).

How we use it

  • To run your membership and show your profile to other members, within your privacy settings.
  • To suggest people, events and perks relevant to you.
  • To send notifications and the weekly digest, which you can manage in Settings.
  • To keep the platform safe and prevent misuse.

Our legal bases are performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests in running the community, and your consent where we ask for it.

Venues and perks

When you redeem a perk, the venue sees an anonymous count. Venues may also see the names of companies whose teams visit — this is grouped business information, not your personal details.

Your name and email are shared with a venue only if you tick the optional box to hear from that venue when redeeming. It is unticked by default and the perk works either way. You can withdraw consent at any time from the perk card.

Venues can view opted-in contacts for 60 days and export them at most once a month. Before exporting, the person exporting must give their name, role and email and agree that the venue is responsible for that copy, will use it only for its own offers, and will not share or sell it. Every export is logged.

Sharing

We never sell your data. We share it only with trusted service providers who host the platform, process payments and send emails, under contracts that protect it, or where the law requires.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data while you are a member. If you delete your account, we remove your personal details, except where we must keep records (such as invoices) for legal reasons.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, access is restricted by role, and staff with admin access must use two-factor authentication.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, delete or download your data, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent at any time. Email us to make a request. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
